Daily Designs: Into Fresh Things Part Two

I really need winter hoodies, because I don't have a lot of them and I really only have one with the kangaroo pouch.

At first, I was going to buy one from a label but I couldn't really find any obscure enough that had a light hoodie because I don't like sweating like a hog when I'm indoors for a few minutes, so I figure I better get one made up.

Spreadshirt is perfect for hoodies because they're not crunk and heavy and they actually last quite a while.

In the previous post I had expressed what it is "Into Fresh Things" means to me and I had always wanted to rock something with that motto on it.  The tricky part was finding the right font, which ended up not being too tricky at all.  It was as simple search in Canva, under retro, and this was the one that caught my eye as it was what I had always envisioned it looking like.

I got two navy blue with the font in yellow and one in white.

I'm happy with the mock-up and I can't wait to see what it's gonna look like.  And of course, there will b be a video so that y'all can see it for yourself.

Daily Designs: Into Fresh Things

Not only is it one of my favourite album covers, it's also the code I live by.  The progress of all things but especially art and design.

I'm not knocking the occasional retro or vintage item, especially for the sake of nostalgia but my personal preference is toward the new and rare.  At the same time I understand that something retro or vintage will be new to somebody and especially when it comes to fashion, there tends to be a recycling of past trends and fads but mainly on the nostalgia tip is where I'll be visiting those aspects of art and design.

I'm still working on a design for this shirt because I don't really wanna utilize the album cover itself,  Anyway, it's a work in progress at the moment.  I'll catch y'all in the next post.

Daily Designs. Troop De Ville #CanvasSeries

Back when I was a kid and I was a big sneakerhead, I was really into the designs of street brands like Troop, K-Swiss and British Knights, and others and I couldn't afford them but I still loved the designs.

Fast forward to today, where a lot of these companies still exist and now I can afford them but I have big ugly flat feet so I can't really rock them.  So my latest t-shirt design project is this tribute to the Troop brand which was always garish and in-your-face and beautiful all at once.

All I did was add a yellow background and my logo.

It's not exactly what I wanted but it's close enough.

Daily Designs. Icons #Canvas Series

This one, I've been wanting to get done up for a while.  I call it "Icons" because it features two of my favourite basketball players of all time and also the two players to have the most overall cultural impact on the game.  This picture personifies the passing of the torch and the meeting of two different but dominant styles.  And Allen Iverson has always said that Michael Jordan was a huge influence on him.

If you're familiar, there is a great teacher, student vibe to the pic.  I like the old Philly 76ers uniform and the fact that it's a young Allen Iverson fresh out of college rocking my favourite kicks of all time.

I went with clearing the background in the pick to make them the focus and minimalize the noise so that the impression of a great duel is given.

I like the way it came out and I can't wait to print it up and rock it.

Daily Designs: Freestyle Session's "Gully" Shirt.

I suck at computer stuff so I don't know how to get this image into the post but if you go to the following link https://www.freestylesession.com/products/armory-gully-t-shirt you will see the shirt that I coveted back twelve or so years ago and disappeared from the internet on me.

If I remember correctly it was a series of team logo style shirts featuring a street theme and this was my favourite one.  It's very well done from the drawing and that upside-down triangle and the font.

For the uninitiated, "gully" was a term used back in the late '90s that was used in place of "ghetto" from time to time.  Seagulls, having a tendency to be viewed as scavenger-type, dumpster-diving birds are the perfect mascot for that type of vibe hence the term "gully".

Anyway, I've always wanted this shirt and now I've finally found it again.

Daily Designs - "It Ain't Hard To Tell" #CanvasSeries

This ironic print is based on my favourite track of all time by, probably my favourite rapper of all time.

The background is yellow in the picture but according to the actual mock-up it should actually come out black.

I'm not a fan of black clothing but sometimes it just works out.
