Night Journal 1 #RockVision

@selfaurelius That What Connections Is All About! Was one of my favourite LONS joints. Anyway, I’m glad i came up with the idea for this beause one of the main things running around in the mond before you go to bed is what you did that day. For some people doing a whole lot of nothing is a great day but for those of us who have placed a sense of urgency on our lives, productivity is a must. And everyone in every field of art feels the same so I hope those of yall struggling will be able to glean some hope and motivation from these videos as time goes on. #knowingthepathandwalkingthepath #freeyourmind #healing #healingjourney #nightjournaling #intofreshthings ♬ original sound - Simon Thompson

The Downrock Records Merch Shop Crate Greats Series. #CrateGreats

I'm currently working on a series of shirts that will feature my top five favourite Hip Hop albums.  The series will be called Crate Greats (#CrateGreats) and the albums that will be featured are Illmatic by Nas, Only Built for Cuban Linx by Raekwon, Business As Usual by EPMD, Whut? Thee Album by Redman and Stepfather by People Under The Stairs.
I put up a couple of examples of what the shirts will look like and it was actually the idea for the shirts that helped inspire the logo change.
I can't wait to put them all out and hopefully, there are fans of these albums that will look to pick them up.  My personal favourite shirt is the 'Only Built' one, but that's just me.

The New Downrock Records Logo

I went ahead and refreshed the Downrock Records logos and I was stumped as to how to incept the new motto into the Logo and I feel like it worked out.
The key to design is solving a problem and I had been drilling through my mind for a solution when it finally hit me.  I loved the abstract logo, which was new at one point so I figured I'd rejig that, but how?
I love shapes and minimal design because it's efficient.  I didn't want the slogan floating around the logo for the sake of the look it would have on a t-shirt and I also want it to be able to stand the test of time, which is another principle of good design..  The result is the two logos above.  The one with the slogan is the primary one for merch and the one without will be for business purposes.
It was a struggle, mentally and it was fun all at once and it paid off.
